The Canadian Tourism Commission holds three major events each year of particular interest to the media:
GoMedia Canada Marketplace
The hottest annual ticket for travel media, GoMedia Canada Marketplace is the place for Canadian travel operators to exchange stories and ideas with international media. This event is held annually in Canada with a different hosting destination each year. There are also professional development sessions covering a range of topics as well as media and industry panel discussions. Pre- and post-event media FAM trips, hosted by destination partners across Canada, allow attending journalists to get to know the host destination each year. Plus there are annual awards for media stories, media centre awards for travel industry representatives and recognition for PR efforts. This year’s GoMedia will take place Aug.17-21, in Winnipeg, MB.
Canada Media Marketplace
Canada Media Marketplace brings together US travel media with provincial/territorial and regional Canadian tourism organizations, major hotel properties, attractions and transportation companies. The purpose is to gather new story ideas, inspiration and background material, develop personal relationships with Canadian media-relations representatives and to network with other American and Canadian media. Attending media are typically travel and lifestyle journalists from print, electronic, and online consumer and travel publications. The marketplace will return to New York City in 2015.
Rendez-vous Canada (RVC) is CTC's premier annual international tourism industry marketplace, gathering more than 1,500 top tourism professionals from around the world. Here, buyers from our key markets and other countries get to meet Canadian sellers in a series of one-to-one business-to-business appointments. They can also take advantage of more relaxed networking opportunities over a packed four days. This year’s RVC takes place May 27-30 at the Vancouver Convention Centre, BC.
