A Board of Directors governs the CTC. The President & Chief Executive Officer (CEO) reports to the board, which is in turn accountable to Parliament through the Minister of Industry.
The board's role is to provide stewardship and strategic direction, and to approve an annually updated five-year Corporate Plan and budget. The Governor-in-Council appoints the Chair of the Board, as well as the President & CEO. The Minister of Industry, with the approval of the Governor-in-Council, appoints the other directors, with the Deputy Minister of Industry Canada serving as an ex-officio director. The CTC reports to the Crown through its Corporate Plan and Annual Report.
The CTC is privileged to have the best and brightest tourism industry leaders in Canada provide advice and insight to the President & CEO and to the Board of Directors through its CTC advisory committees.
